Friday 12th February

Kathryn Turner: “The Irish Sea - an overview”.

Room B, Heswall Hall. 7.30 p.m.
Dr Kathryn Turner is the North West Wildlife Trusts Irish Sea Advocacy Officer. Her role is to assess the species and habitats of the Irish Sea and to help the Trusts act to maximise the protection given to our marine life. Kathryn is a graduate of Aberdeen, Fordham (New York) and Sheffield universities and has worked in conservation both under government and NGO auspices for the last 20 years; she came to us from the Fylde Coast Marine Life Project which she set up and ran for ten years.  Her collie Jake loves all the beach walks but doesn't like sharing the car-boot with all those smelly finds!

Ted Brabin: “Bees and Bee-Keeping”.

Room B, Heswall Hall. 7.30 p.m.

Ted is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable local speaker. He has degrees in Biology and spent 25 years as a police officer, which, he says, naturally follow!

Friday April 9th

Nic Harding: Basically Bats.

Room B, Heswall Hall. 7.30 p.m.

Nic is the Ranger for Flaybrick Memorial Gardens, Bidston Hill and Tam O’Shanter Urban Farm. Bats are one of his particular interests, and he will be giving an illustrated presentation of those in Britain and in some other parts of Europe.

Saturday April 24th

Expedition to Tom’s Paddock, Foxes Wood and Thornton Wood. Join members of Wirral Wildlife on a guided walk round some of the Trust’s reserves around Upper Dibbinsdale. We meet at 2 pm on Thornton Common Road beside the motorway bridge (Grid Ref: SJ328813) Limited parking; car–share if possible. Saturday May 15th

Garden Event for members and friends at Caldy. 2pm – 4pm.

Bring & Buy, sale of Trust goods, plant stall and raffle in the home of a Trust member. Admission 50p including refreshments. Details and location: telephone 0151 625 5570.

Wirral Coastal Walk.
